New American Art Partners With Theater for The New City to Offer After-School Arts Education Program




Do you know ay children ages 8-12 who would like to take free art/music/dance/theater classes? The arts education nonprofit, New American Art in partnership with Theater for the New City is offering an 18-week after-school event beginning Feb. 23 in NYC's East Village.

Muchisimas Gracias to all my darling amors who came out to the ACKER awards at Theater for the New City last night. You can taste some of the electric creative energy of LAST NIGHT today at the ACKER ART SHOW at CLTV Gallery -209 East 3rd St. -- TODAY is the LAST day of the show! I'm profoundly honored to have a painting in the ACKER ART show. 

The Acker Art Show includes the astonishing art of Clayton Patterson, brilliant Graffiti legends Mers One, DUKE9 and James TOP (HipHop Hall of Fame) as well as legendary Tattoo artists like Richie Fie. It is a beautiful beautiful beautiful show curated by Acker winner Jim Muscarella. My painting is next to a David Lynch on the back wall. Once again multidisciplinary artist and wonder Phoebe Legere has been tapped to host and emcee the Acker Awards. Named after the experimental novelist, playwright, essayist, and postmodernist writer Kathy Acker, Clayton Patterson created the award in 2014 to “embrace the whole spectrum” of downtown avant-garde creators. Each recipient of the Acker receives a box which contains a contribution from each of the winners, as well as a pair of posters designed by other award winners .

Crystal Field! Phoebe Legere! Carlina Rivera! Sell Out Night At TNA Fundraiser for Emerging Playwrights

IT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT:

The Love N' Courage annual benefit for Emerging Playwrights, Theater for The New City, was held last night at the Players NYC Club in Manhattan. Once again the Phenomenal Artist of All Time, Phoebe Legere served as Master of Ceremonies and Host to the sell out crowd.











Theater for the New City founder Crystal Field received a wonderful grant from NYC City Council Member Carlina Rivera for renovation of the cherished space on First Avenue.
