Phoebe Legere Teaches Art in Maine

 Instructor: Phoebe "Songbundle" Legere

The Visual Language of the Abenaki is 11,000 years old. It's much more than just design or craft. These symbols reveal the Great Mystery of Creation itself.

Phoebe Legere shows how the characteristic movements of water - waves, eddies, currents, whirlpools, spirals - became the building blocks of evolution. Draw ANYTHING using Abenaki symbols as the foundation.

Learn what these patterns REALLY mean! We'll use them to create Abstract paintings, realistic drawing and finally landscapes! Phoebe "Songbundle" Legere is a descendant of the Kennebec Abenaki. We'll use music, observation and discussion to uncover the profound Visual Language of the Abenaki.

The Symbols of the Abenaki are a Holy Book that pre-dates Christianity. "Phoebe Songbundle teaches by telling Abenaki stories using live drawing and painting. It's an interdisciplinary performance that will inspire you dedicate your own life to Art."
