Phoebe Legere Said:
"Yesterday we marched through the East Village singing the Sunflower Song - based on #Ukrainian folk song Oy Marichko - with timely & excellent anti-fascist new lyrics by Stephan Said.
"As we stood #singing for #peace - in support of the people of #Ukraine - in front of Veselka :: Beceлкa - Stephan said: You don't think a song can change the world but it CAN!" And for those few hours of happiness, it did.
"Note iconic hero artist Pat Olesko upper left in her Sunflower costume. I think there are some great photos of the march. Cheryl Pyle who plays a mean piccolo btw, may have a photo of me leading some young children singing Tra La La - No photo can capture the happiness and hope we felt yesterday. You just had to be there.
"Thank you to Honk & Stephan for organizing this ecstatic & profound demonstration of empathy & collective feeling - Love & Courage to our good friends in #Ukraine."
