Phoebe Legere ART NEWSLETTER FOR OCTOBER * PHOEBE ON NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO & MORE...

The Phoebe Legere Art Newsletter for October is out:

Hoping this month was good to you and that you and your loved ones are safe. My wish for you is to be happy, healthy and prosperous in the months ahead.

On Oct. 22 I celebrated “Lights on Afterschool Day” by appearing on National Public Radio to discuss the important role of afterschool arts programs in the lives of children, families and communities.

As many of you know, I am founder and President of the Foundation for New American Art, A 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to “Nurturing the Visionary Artists of Tomorrow.” We sponsor free afterschool, Saturday and summer programs to educate, nurture and strengthen, the artistic and musical spirit of low-income communities.

We give children ages 8 to 13 years of age a safe space to explore and express their dreams and visions. The Art Spirit raises the confidence of neighborhoods and communities. We have an unwavering belief in the brilliance of children and the power of their art.

I am using Open-Source broadcasting to expand the reach of my programs for children. I’m in production, shooting my new Children’s Television Show, premiering in January, 2021.

I believe that cultural creativity is the antidote to the broken heart of our modern world.

This month I established Phoebelegereart.com to offer my paintings for sale to fuel the online programs of the Foundation for New American Art. All proceeds fund music and art for children everywhere. Visit the foundationfornewamericanart.org to learn more about how you can get involved.

Moving forward, however things turn out on November 3, we have to begin healing the deep divisions in our country. We must draw back together as a people. We know that art and music are the very best way to bring people close to each other again.
