The Cool School is an arts education after-school program created and hosted by the nonprofit Foundation for New American Art. The school is open in Poughkeepsie, NY & NYC and serving dozens of students in each session. Art, Music, Dance and Theater classes are free to students and are taught by professional artists, musicians and teachers. The Cool School program is sponsored in part by a grant from NYSCA.

"The Cool School is a free afterschool program for children 8-12. We teach real life art skills to creative children to get them ready for the dog-eat-dog art world. Every child learns how to draw a cube, a sphere, a cylinder and a pyramid with both a pencil and an iPad!
"Every child learns some music theory. Every child learns dance basics.
"We have programs in upstate NY and in NYC. Thank you NYSCA for funding our free cultural educational initiative for the children of high need, low-income communities."
